Tree & Sky

20th-century French School oil painting on wood signed G. Dubois (19th-20th century). Dated "summer 1905" on the back, along with an inscription. The work has some texture to the touch.

This small painting, with its wild colors and radiant sky, was purchased in Nice but looks like the Loire Valley or another more central landscape. The sky is incredible in this landscape, with clouds and light radiating from all directions. The paint used is generous. This wild sky is punctuated by a single tree in the landscape.

The painting is in excellent condition for its age. The frame is not an original antique, and is more contemporary. It is also in good condition.
