19th-century French School oil painting on wood. The work is signed (illegible) in the lower left corner and has a slightly textured surface.

This dark and moody vertical landscape features distressed marks where the wood shows through the paint. Visible figures appear to be kneeling near a pond. Time has transformed this painting into a true brocante decor piece, with rich colors and areas where the paint has worn off, revealing the wood beneath. The frame is vintage.
