Village View

20th-century French School oil painting on carton board, attributed to Charles Berges (1851-1941). The work has a little texture to the touch.

A beautiful village and river scene, with all the charm of Provence. In the spirit of brocante, this painting has a warp to it from age and moisture. Along the mountain line, the carton itself protrudes. The dimension gives character, and the condition of the painting is stable.
