Les Radis
£1,291.00
A splendid Impressionist still life of radishes, dated 1926 and signed in the lower right corner by Jeanne-Henriette Ginestet (b. 1904-?), a French artist from Montmartre and a member of the Société des Artistes Français.
The composition exudes vibrant energy, primarily through the use of a rich color palette centered around the radishes, where the chandelier on the right seems to blend into the anarchic background filled with colorful strokes. This effect emphasizes the swirling shapes and shades of red in the radishes, setting them apart from the rest of the scene.
The elegant late 19th-century Beaux-Arts frame complements the wild background's moss and foliage-green tones with subtle harmony.
