Rive Droite
20th-century French school oil painting on wooden panel, signed Salamon (19th & 20th century). The work has a little texture to the touch.
A river landscape featuring a figure on the right side of the bank, along with boats and a peaceful home on the left. The brushstrokes are juxtaposed with rapid movement in the foreground. The trees textured, providing relief to the shore. The imposing sky was painted with wavy, broad brushstrokes, creating a massive vaporous effect on the horizon. The modern fluted gilded plaster frame harmonizes with the palette and the bright light of the sky.
