Le Thé
A sweet lifestyle scene on hard carton from the home and atelier of French artist Cécile Hertz-Eyrolles (1875–1974). The work has the atelier stamp on the back of the painting.
This lifestyle scene features a woman at a little table outside with a cup of tea. While her face is abstracted and not visible, her pink blouse pops against the green background. Her table is set with a white tablecloth, and what looks to be a porcelain bowl of fruit, as well as a glass bottle. There is a peacefulness and sweetness to the painting, and symbols of a quiet domestic life.
Condition to note: The exterior edge of the painting has small marks and places where the carton is a bit smudged, but the overall condition for the age is quite good.
