Les Promeneurs
A 19th-century French School oil painting on wood signed by F. Comby (19th & 20th century) in the lower left corner. The work has a slight texture to the touch.
This classic French painting from the late 1800s showcases near-precision detailing. The tiny figures are painted with such perfection that one can discern the woman holding the man's arm and pointing to the house with her tiny pink hand. The level of detail applied to the figures, the leaves of the trees, and the grass is stunning in person, and challenging to convey in a photograph.
Furthermore, despite being approximately 150 years old, the painting is in near-perfect condition. The wood and surface show minimal signs of wear, and the original antique frame remains intact and wonderful. The bag of the painting and frame are stamped with numbers to identify them.
