A landscape on hard carton from the home and atelier of French artist Cécile Hertz-Eyrolles (1875–1974). The work has the atelier stamp on the back of the painting.
This landscape shows a figure in the left hand side, kneeling along the banks of a meandering river, washing laundry. A small town and bridge frames the river. The painting is made up of broad, sweeping brushstrokes. A lovely quintessential French village scene, this painting would make a lovely addition to a shelf or study.
Condition to note: The corners of the painting are a bit rounded and show where some paint has rubbed off. This is not very noticeable, and the painting is in good overall condition.
