Court Claire
$500.00
A poetic village painting on hard carton from the home and atelier of French artist Cécile Hertz-Eyrolles (1875–1974). The work has the atelier stamp on the back of the painting.
This village oil painting scene features a church, with the stone walls of houses, and chickens in the foreground. We believe this to be Saint-Malo, based on where Cécile traveled and painted. The painting was created with broad brushstrokes, except for specific details, such as the weathervane on the church in the shape of a rooster. The soft, balmy colors create a peaceful painting, that would "shine" in a room that gets natural light.
