Romantic Bouquet

20th-century oil painting on canvas, potentially French, but in the style of the Dutch masters. Unsigned and in superb condition for its age.

This large scale still life is a showstopper. The flowers spill forth from the arrangement, into the light, creating a fountain of florals. Details like the a stalk of wheat, in the back of the bouquet, and the robust grapes spilling forth over the edge of the table, add just enough curiosity and intrigue, without disrupting the cohesive beauty of the whole.
