Le Jour Tombe
20th-century French School oil on wooden panel attributed to Albert Lepreux (1868-1959). The artwork has a textured surface when touched.
This Impressionist landscape painting features thick, comma-shaped brushstrokes that create varying waves and volumes. The technique infuses the artwork with dynamic energy. The lighting in the painting is subtly subdued, portraying the end of the day with a cloudy sky, conveyed through a palette of dark colors. The striking harmony between the artwork and the aged golden frame adds to its overall appeal.
