The White Path
20th Century French School oil on canvas (large-scale) signed by R. Michel, pseudonym of Eugène Galien-Laloue (1854-1941). The work is smooth to the touch.
A work full of light with a wide sky occupying more than half of the landscape. Apart from the beautiful luminosity emanating from the shades of white, the detail is meticulous creating a realistic result. Galien-Laloue also translates a certain human fragility in this snowy vastness guiding our gaze to the winter walker dressed in a red cap, the only warm color in this vista.
