20th-century French school painting on carton and framed. The work is signed and has texture to the touch. An inscription is visible in the lower right hand corner, but not legible. 

This unique textured oil painting features a village on a hill in the south of France, bathed in sunlight against a light blue sky. The foliage in the foreground shows the freedom and ample use of oil by the artist. The original frame is chippy and true to brocante style.
