Original Antique European Oil Painting: 19th-century Belgian school, portrait of a child in oil on canvas, signed and dated 1886. A beautiful balance of chiaroscuro emerges from this portrait, freezing the expression of the young man with tension and relief. His clear gaze is almost illuminated by the interacting contrasts.

  • Condition: The canvas is in an excellent state of conservation for its 135 years. The carved wooden frame has a few accidents, such as this lack (4.1 ") near the moldings of the upper right vertical corner. Despite minor accidents, the overall condition is good, like the floral moldings in the corners which are in perfect condition.
